CHARACTERISTICS

Personality: Like most contractors, he keeps his emotions hidden and keeps his rationality logical. He secretly longs for companionship when he isn't actively shunning all contact. (He's a bit bipolar that way.) He hates injustice, and will act almost irrational when faced with it. Unlike other contractors, he maintains loyalty, and will stick with his original employer until the job is done. (That doesn't mean he won't pretend to consider another offer to get his original employer to offer more)

Brief History:

Kane doesn't remember anything before becoming a contractor. Well, he does, but the memories are useless. He remembers playing in his front yard as a little kid, and going to school as a teen, but he doesn't remember his own name. He remembers having parents, but he can't remember anything about them.

He woke up one day in the middle of Central Park, the entire world looking grey and dull. He wandered, on the brink of death, until he finally ran into a young lady near the Brooklyn Bridge. She saved him, bringing him home and nursing him back to health. When he finally came to, construction had already started on the huge new wall separating Manhattan Island from the rest of the world.

He was told the blast zone extended all the way up to Upper Manhatan. He stayed with the young woman, whose name was Naveen, for a few more weeks. He grew used to having constant companionship, and began to actually enjoy his time there.

One day almost two months after the Valhalla's Gate incident, Kane discovered his power. He was sitting talking with Naveen when he accidentally created a "Gravitational anomaly" that threw Naveen across the room and into a table. He ran from the building, believing he had killed her. In his fits of hysteria he burnt his arms, simultaneously establishing his payment and causing his hate of self-harm.

He discovered months later that Naveen lived (but was horribly scarred from landing on a glass vase that was on the table), yet he refused to see her, still believing himself responsible for her injuries.

Kane now takes jobs with the syndicate, who have assigned him to a team of other contractors and dolls.
