The Beginning

Brisa felt Jace pull her up the stairs, She was indifferent about the while thing. Looking back she could see the room fill with fog. And her eyes widened in an instant, " STOP!" she yelled out. Dolls dont usually yell so she could understand if that was shocking. She looked back to see Kane with a woman draped over his shoulder. The rest of them were dead, now it was time to find someplace to debrief on the situation.

Brisa walked up to Kane and the unconscious woman. She pulled a piece of small chain from her sleeve and proceeded to wrap it around the womans hands. Just in case she was to wake up. Brisa didnt utter a word, just finished up and walked away, not even looking at the two. She was waiting for orders on what next.

Jace ran down the stairs and noticed the corpses on the ground. "Whoa..." He said, he hadn't seen death like that before. He'd never even really seen another human dead before. "Kane. Who the hell are they, besides other contractors..." He said, grabbing one of the jackets. "And why do I have a feeling that more will be coming after us."

Kane carried the girl up the stairs as Jace grabbed the jackets. "They're wearing Pandora jackets, which doesn't make any sense. We need to get someplace less conspicuous." He looked around. They were in an alley for now, but he couldn't carry a bound, unconscious woman very far without attracting a lot of attention.

"Hey Brisa, where's the nearest hotel? We can sneak sleepy here up to a room to question her."

Brisa nodded at Kane and looked up. She searched for the nearest crappy hotel where something like a break in wouldnt be too noticed. She lowered her head and looked at the two guys. " Down further into the alley, if you take a right and go past a chain fence there is a old hotel with a window open. No one is inside though. " She said. Figured it could be easy to get in and out of while not crossing any streets or people. " the way is clear." She said as she started to walk down the alley.

Jace nodded and went down the alley. "Found it." He said, throwing the coats over the fence. The contractor followed them over. "Remind me to never hide from a doll." He said, climbing in through the window and taking a look at the room. "It'll do. I've slept in worse." He said, throwing down the jackets and using one as a pillow.

Kane shrugged. "we might as well let the lady sleep" he said, setting her on the bed. He pulled up a chair on the other side of the room.

Kane looked over at Brisa. "You want to sleep too?" he asked, "I'll take first watch. Take the bed with mystery woman. I gave her enough volts to keep her under for a day or two. Plus, she's all tied up."

Brisa just shook her head, instead she took off her back pack and pulled out a case. A violin case. She didnt play it, as it would cause noice but she did hold it close to her and sat in the corner, if she could remember, she could at least feel like she did.

"Wake me up when your tired. Brisa, if he starts to doze off but doesn't want to wake me. Wake me." Jonathon adjusted the jacket's and made a pillow up against the wall. He fell asleep against the wall, letting the female prisoner get the bed to herself. He would have just felt awkward being in the same bed as her. The floor was fine. More comfortable then some floors he's slept on at least.

Brisa watched as the girl slept and Jace adjusted himself to sleep on the floor. She didnt really sleep nowadays. Deprivation keeping her awake for days. She wouldn't feel tired or anything either. Besides she was the best watch. She stationed her spectre outside, in a non suspicious place as well. Looking out, but high above. On a tall building above. One that overlooked the entire area. However, Brisa still peered out the window. Just from a tiny crack in the curtain. Not much to see, but the natural light was better than anything.

Kane looked at the bound woman. "Welcome back to the land of the living" he joked. He studied the contractor, looking her over once more now that she was awake. She wasn't too bad looking for a stone cold killer.

He shrugged. "So, wanna tell us why you were chasing us?" he asked.

Jace heard talking and opened one of his eyes. "Hmmm?" He said, sitting up. "Oh...She's awake." He said, yawning as he stood up. "So. There's probably a lot of questions to be asked here. My associate most likely asked one or two, but I can think of a few. The usual interrogation questions. Who are you, why were you following us, who do you work for. Also, what's up with the jackets?" He said, picking one up with his foot and kicking it up to his hands. "Not exactly subtle for an organisation of contractors."

Brisa looked over at the girl who stirred. She apparently had a hatred and rage for Kane. Understandable, since he was the one that had knocked her out. She just looked back outside, figuring her cohorts would handle everything the situation dealt out. She would just continue to watch the outside world to keep an eye out for other contractors or perhaps other Pandora members out on the hunt for their long lost comrade.

Brisa glanced once more at Jace, who seemed to wake up and was ready for all the questioning as well. They act like she would give in so easilly. Contractors arn't quite like dolls, they can keep secrets. Brisa stood up, the outside seemed clear enough. She turned to watch them as they would interrogate the girl, her purple eyes not really fixed on her but she did watch her just in case.

Kane watched the young woman intently. He could tell she didn't like him at all. He could also tell that she was showing way too much emotion for a contractor. Was it something PANDORA had done?

In general, contractors would give up information when they were in trouble. All contractors were like that. "Self over Job" was the rule with them. Perhaps her arbitrary decision to keep her mouth shut was somehow linked to her blatant emotions?

Kane got up and walked over to the bed. He lifted the woman by the chains on her wrists, twisting so her feet were dangling near the side of the bed.

"How. Are. You. Working. For. PANDORA?" Kane asked again, being more forceful. Strange tactics for strange situations.

"Whoa. Calm down." Jace said, trying to pull Kane off. "She won't be good to us if she dies." He said, having a feeling his efforts were futile. He turned toward Brisa. "Do something." He mouthed the doll. His power was useful in some situations. This was not one of those situations however. He just hoped he could keep Kane from knocking the femal contractor out again.

Brisa looked over as the woman failed to comply. Strange. They scence before her was strange also. Everyone here wasn't like a normal contractor. She wasn't a normal doll. Perhaps over time each began to mutate. However she stood as she saw Jace mouth to her. Telling her to do something. Brisa looked over at Kane. He was being fairly rough with her.

True they didnt have all the time in the world , but he didnt have to be so urgent. Brisa walked over to Kane and the girl slowly. She looked up at Kane. " Perhaps she doesnt know anything." Brisa let her purple eyes fall down to the girl. " If she did, she would have already told us." She said in a monotone voice.

The doll proceeded to pull out two kunai from her wrist guantlet. " Im sure there are other PANDORA Contractors out there to answer us if she doesn't want to." She said staring intently at the girl. Of course all of this was a bluff. But to the woman, it would be all so real, since Dolls cant lie. Brisa had no intent to harm her of course, but it was a tatic to coax it out of her. She was sure there wasn't very many PANDORA Contractors but the way Brisa said it made it all to real, that they would kill her if she had nothing to say.

Kane glared at her, making sure she was telling the truth. He shrugged, and put her down. "No offence, just making sure" he said as he set her back on the bed.

He had a bad feeling about the whole situation. PANDORA didn't hire contractors, so why were they now? And why were they being so careful about their dealings? It was only natural to be secretive, but there was something off.

He went back and sat down on the chair once more. "I'll get you a new jacket if you'd like" he told the woman. "What's your name?" he asked.

Jace waited for a moment before stepping away from Kane. He tested his weight against the window sill to ensure that it would hold him. Confident he would not break the make shift seat. Then he turned to Brisa. "Brisa. Think you can find some light. A candle would be enough. Just something to brighten this room up some." He asked the doll, his voice was not demanding though, merely asking politely. Even if she wasn't a real person, she was once. She deserved some respect.

Brisa turned away from the girl and from Kang, carefully reloading her Kunai back into her wrist. Wether she was given information or not, there was still unanswered questions. The doll walked off and leaned against the wall closer to the door. She looked at the girl, " So if we agree you are telling the truth, there is still another matter. Why? Why are you working with PANDORA? " She asked in her Monotone voice. The girl looked down at the floor.

" Contractors hate PANDORA, why give up your freedom to be thier lacky?" she asked once more. Her glanced switched to the left, to see Kang sitting on a window sill. When he asked for light, she didn't roll her eyes, she didn't look away. She just rose her hand and flicked the switch that was next to her. How brilliant. Her gaze returned to the girl, the light provided a brighter room, but it wasn't something noticeable from outside. Just pray that they don't have Utility meters at the front desk for each room.

Kane looked at the bound contractor. "Well, you're not an enemy any more, so we can't kill you. And we don't trust you quite yet, so we can't let you go." He walked over to the coats Jace had been resting on and picked one up.

"What's your star code?" Kane asked her, rubbing his thumb on the code onto the coat's arm, the glossy material clinging to his skin.

"Thank you Brisa." Jace said to the doll, even though she hadn't done much work to get light in this place. The doll did something, that was more then he'd seen some humans do. "Wait, I was sleeping on that." He said, trying to argue with Kane picking up the jacket, but he just sighed and leaned back on the window sill. "Never mind." He said, knowing that argueing with Kane could end badly.

The doll looked at the girl with her purple eyes. " Contractors an gain nothing from PANDORA, except suffering..." she said in a deeper monotone voice. Something quite normal for Brisa. Closing her eyes she continued to listen to the conversation. Jace being a bit loud and annoying to the doll as he complained about his comfort being taken away. She gave him a quik glance before resuming her leaning position on the wall. However her gaze fell and she stared out the floor.

Using her spectre to scan the outside, she didn't need to pay anymore attention to what was happening inside. A matter for contractors. she only worked for them, they made the decisions.
